Your Neighbors. Your Movers. Your Peace of Mind.
Let’s face it: handing over the keys to your house and trusting strangers with everything you own is a big deal. It requires a level of trust that isn’t earned overnight. At A1A Moving & Relocation, we don’t take that responsibility lightly. To us, you aren’t just a “job number” or a stop on a route – you are our neighbor.
We are a family-owned and operated business based right here in Ennis, Texas. For over 20 years, we have been navigating the back roads of Ellis County, the highways of Texas, and the logistics of crossing state lines. We built this company on a simple foundation: hard work, honest pricing, and the belief that moving day doesn’t have to be the worst day of your year.
Our Story
We saw a gap in the moving industry. Too often, people were dealing with movers who showed up late, added hidden fees at the last minute, or treated fragile heirlooms like gym weights. We decided to be the antidote to that experience.
We wanted to build a company that people in Waxahachie, Corsicana, Ennis, and beyond could actually rely on. We started with a commitment to transparency and quality, and that commitment has grown into a reputation we are incredibly proud of. Today, being voted Best of 2025 in Ellis County isn’t just a badge on our website; it is proof that doing business the right way pays off.
How We Work
We believe in a seamless moving experience. From the moment you call us for a quote to the moment we place the last box in your new living room, we want you to feel supported.
We don’t hire random day laborers. We have a dedicated, experienced team that knows the ins and outs of packing, loading, and logistics. We are fully licensed and insured, which means your belongings are protected, and our team adheres to strict federal and state regulations.
We know that every move is different. Maybe you are a senior downsizing to a smaller home in Athens, or a growing business moving to a larger office in Midlothian. Whatever the situation, we bring the same level of care, respect, and efficiency to the job.
Our Core Values
Why do our customers keep coming back (and recommending us to their friends)? It comes down to the values we live by every day.
We Are Transparent We hate hidden fees. We believe you should know exactly what you are paying for. Our quotes are detailed and clear so you can plan your budget with confidence.
We Are Experienced With 20+ years of moving experience, we have seen it all. Narrow staircases? Heavy pianos? Tight deadlines? We have the skills and the strategy to handle it.
We Are Community-Focused We live here. We work here. We are proud members of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce and the Southwest Movers Association. When you hire A1A, you are supporting a local business that supports your community.
We Are Safety-Obsessed We handle every item with care. We use the right padding, the right straps, and the right techniques to ensure your belongings arrive in the exact same condition they left in.
A Message from Our Team
“We know that moving is one of the most stressful things you can do in life. Our goal is simple: to take that stress off your shoulders. We want you to look back at your moving day and think, ‘Wow, that was actually easy.’ Whether you are moving across the street or across the country, we are honored to be the team you choose to get you there.”
Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I get a moving estimate?
When you contact A1A Moving & Relocation Services., you will have a dedicated moving coordinator assigned to your move. The best way to get an estimate is to give us a call so we can learn about your move, understand your needs, gather your inventory, and provide an immediate estimate. You can also submit a request through our website. For complex moves like long-distance or interstate moves, we may recommend a quick on-site evaluation to provide an accurate estimate.
What is your policy on on-time moving?
At A1A, we guarantee on-time arrival within a 30-minute window. We strive for communication between our crew and clients, so you’ll always be informed about any potential delays.
What is an on-site evaluation?
An on-site evaluation consists of our owner, Frank Weaver, visiting your home to assess all the items to be moved. After the evaluation, he will provide a verbal estimate and a written estimate afterward. The process typically takes between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours.
What should I ask at the on-site evaluation?
This is a great time to ask any questions, such as packing tips, how to save time on moving day, or what you should do with certain items. Think of this as an opportunity to consult with a moving expert.
What are my rights and responsibilities for moving?
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires that all moving companies provide a Rights & Responsibilities brochure. You’ll receive this along with your moving estimate. This brochure outlines your rights and helps you plan your move with confidence.
Do you charge by the hour or do you charge a flat rate for moving services?
We offer both hourly and flat-rate pricing. For local moves (under 100 miles), we charge an hourly rate, which includes everything you need for a safe move. For long-distance or interstate moves, we provide binding estimates.
Do you charge for more than one pick-up/stop?
No, there are no additional fees for multiple stops on local moves. For long-distance or interstate moves, additional stops will be included in the flat-rate quote.
What is a do not exceed estimate?
If you have a set budget, you can request a Do Not Exceed Estimate for your local move. This helps ensure that your move stays within your desired budget, even if unexpected circumstances arise.
Should I tip the moving crew?
Tipping is not required but is appreciated. If you feel the crew did an exceptional job, you can tip based on their performance. For a half-day move (4 hours), $10 per person is appropriate, and for a full-day move, $30 per person is the general consensus.
Do you charge extra for moving pianos?
We do not charge extra for moving upright pianos. However, Baby Grand and Grand Pianos are referred to a third party, though we can assist with that as well.
What happens if it rains, snows, or the weather is bad?
We honor our moving commitments regardless of the weather. If there’s any delay due to weather, we will keep you informed. We take extra precautions like using floor protectors and shoe covers to ensure the safety of your home.
Can I move jewelry and other valuables in the moving truck?
It’s recommended that you carry valuable items like jewelry, small safes, and family photos in your personal vehicle. Our crew can load and unload these items from your personal vehicle, but we suggest you keep them with you during the move.
Can I move my firearm in my gun safe?
No, gun safes must be emptied, and firearms cannot be transported in the moving truck. We can move gun safes and ammunition, but you’ll need to handle the firearms yourself.
How can I pack my glassware and other fragile items for moving?
A1A offers full packing services, but if you decide to pack fragile items yourself, be sure to use sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and clearly label them as fragile. We recommend marking the box with FRAGILE in red to ensure extra care is taken.
When should I contact a moving company?
It’s best to contact us as early as possible – at least 4 weeks before your moving date. This gives you time to schedule your preferred moving date and discuss the logistics of your move.
Are there hazardous items A1A Cannot Move?
We cannot transport hazardous items such as flammable, corrosive, or explosive materials. This includes propane tanks and outdoor gas items. We can transport a grill, but the propane tank must be removed.
Do I need to clean out my refrigerator and freezer before the move?
Yes, please remove any perishable contents from your refrigerator and freezer before the moving crew arrives. If your move is under 60 miles, we can transport the refrigerator’s contents in a cooler.
